Good introductory book

The book is good for someone just starting out, but it would be so much more helpful if it included more ways of solving problems you run into in real world and also identifying some of the software glitches that seem to be inherent with new software that hasn't been proven.

Not nearly as bad as some authors. There are instructions given in here that do not work and leave me frustrated. But it averages out to be a better than average textbook.
