About the Author
Having been born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, E. Marie Sanders claims to be a mixture of southern hospitality with northern know-how. She taught in the public school system for 12 years and has served as a youth pastor for the past 13 years, observing the habits of the age group she hoped to write for one day. The stories she told in classroom grabbed her reluctant readers’ attention and guided her toward putting the stories on paper. Her story lines and ideas develop by combining a dash of urban real life with great storytelling fiction and imagination. E. Marie seeks to grab the reader, youth and adults alike, in the very beginning and continues to build momentum throughout the story in order to make the reading experience a joy for those who frown upon the pastime. Her first book, To K(no)w Avail, won the 2011 Favorite Book of the Year honors with From a Writer’s POV Magazine. E. Marie is a National Board Certified Teacher and a member of the National Education Association and Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. She and her husband Eric reside in Lumberton, North Carolina.

Another AWESOME Read by E Marie Sanders!

I have been a follower of E. Marie Sanders and her work since To K(no)w Avail, and just like her first book this one did not disappoint. I was extremely impressed by the ease of the characters and how the storyline flowed. It wasn't rushed or pressed; it was as if I was following Marlena and her family through this time in their lives. I especially appreciate how the subject matter was handled while still contained within the boundaries of a Christian fiction heading. That in itself is a true rarity.
Without giving the story away, Marlena (like most teenagers) is tackling raging hormones, defiance, and loyalty all at once. She falls hard for a guy who she thought was something he was not, and it's something we can all relate to. However, what makes the story refreshing is that she prevails in the end. I can really appreciate that as well since most works that are being published no longer believe in happy endings.
Ms. Sanders, I eagerly await your next book!

Oooooooh my goodness! Lady you did it again. I was left on edge throughout the entire read. I am so excited about this selection. The chapters flowed together so smoothly that I did not notice the transition. I was able to visualize everything that you exposed to your reader. My anticipation level was off the charts. Thank you for sharing your amazing gift with us. I'm excitedly trying to secure funding to order this text for my students during the summer as well as during the school year. Keep up the great writing and inspiration. You are jewel in the midst of awesome authors. Beautiful

This is a wonderful story and if you have a teenage daughter you should have her read this book. I live the truth that E. Marie Sanders imparts in this book.
Ms. Sanders, will their be a sequel? I can see Jason/Jay redeemed and rekindling a relationship with Mar, but it will require them to really trust and depend on God. I would love a sequel.
