A highly skilled assassin, Robie is the man the U.S. government calls on to eliminate the worst of the worst-enemies of the state, monsters committed to harming untold numbers of innocent victims. No one else can match Robie's talents as a hitman...no one, except Jessica Reel. A fellow assassin, equally professional and dangerous, Reel is every bit as lethal as Robie. And now, she's gone rogue, turning her gun sights on other members of their agency. To stop one of their own, the government looks again to Will Robie. His mission: bring in Reel, dead or alive. Only a killer can catch another killer, they tell him. But as Robie pursues Reel, he quickly finds that there is more to her betrayal than meets the eye. Her attacks on the agency conceal a larger threat, a threat that could send shockwaves through the U.S. government and around the world.

Review
"Another fast paced page turner that will keep you glued to the couch...by an author who continues to standout in the increasingly crowded thriller field."―Examiner.com on The Forgotten

"Baldacci is a master when it comes to writing about small-town conspiracies and a lone hero who fights against all odds to clean up corruption. The narrative moves slowly, so the reader has a chance to solve the case along with Puller. It might seem straightforward, but the final reveal will surprise even hardcore thriller junkies."―The Washington Post on The Forgotten

"The Innocent is Baldacci at his absolute best...Baldacci provides the reader a non-stop pulse pounding ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat into the wee hours of the morning...Five Stars."―Examiner.com

"This book is a definite one-day, 'edge-of-your-chair' read, with an ending that is a complete surprise. One of the best Baldacci's since Absolute Power, this is one that will have all suspense readers enthralled."―Suspense Magazine on The Innocent

"Readers expect excitement and intrigue in David Baldacci's books, and Zero Day is no exception...As Baldacci's new hero narrowly escapes countless close calls, the pairing of the author's imagination and knowledge create a wild ride for the reader. Puller is gutsy, brash and likable. Best of all, he survives to reappear in the next book of this new series."―The Free-Lance Star on Zero Day

THIS HIT IS A MISS
By William Lotz
This novel begins with hit man coordinator Doug Jacobs directing an overseas hit via computer on a terrorist. He goes through the countdown with his counterpart. At the precise moment the countdown ends, the rifle shot by the sniper is heard. But it is Doug Jacobs who dies, not the terrorist.

Will Robie travels to Manhattan. He has an assignment from his organization (CIA) to kill a terrorist. He collects his sniper rifle from a hidden place of storage. The terrorist is well guarded, and will be jogging, with two bodyguards in front of him and two more behind, so it will require a shot from a long distance, and must be made through two holes previously drilled by his organization. One for the barrel of his and one for its scope.

After waiting for hours for the target to appear, he takes the shot. Mission successful.

Unfortunately, many detrimental aspects then appear, such as extended descriptions of mundane activities, including the use of titles and first and last names. Skimming is necessary to find content.

In Chapter 4, we learn that Jennifer Peel, a former CIA agent, was the one who killed Doug Jacobs.

Then, unfortunately, the detrimental aspects return, fortunately for a short time.

Then, since Peel is no longer with the CIA, she knows that her unsanctioned hit on Jacobs will not be condoned by the CIA, and she may be hunted down and terminated. To confuse her hunters, she has plastic surgery performed to alter her appearance, then flies to New York, presumeably out of curiosity regarding the terrorist in Manhattan, and visits the scene, where she (amazingly) determines that is was Robie who had made the hit. She also (again, amazingly) learns what his escape route was.

She then determines that, if she is hunted down, it will be Robie who would do the hunting, since he is the CIA's best agent.

Unfortunately again, the remainder of the novel continues to require skimming to find content. and even the content is so outrageous as to be unbelievable.

Without the undesirables, "The Hit" would be an excellent novel to read. With them, it is barely readable.

Loved it
By Zack Jennings
I have read all of these books. This one did not disappoint. Unlike the TV Series and the Nikki Heat Books, Derrick Storm plays on the world stage... more super spy than NYC Detective. Fast paced action with big themes, world wide consequences. Is it James Bond good? Well, it's as good as some James Bond books. Who is Richard Castle? No one knows but I suspect it is more than one author. There is a hint in the acknowledgements. But who cares? It's a fun franchise for someone. I love the TV show and will keep buying the books.

NOT HIS BEST WORK
By E. Piper
I have read many of the reviews written about this book and just can't agree with the people who gave it five stars. I love David Baldacci's books and have enjoyed most of them but this one was predictable and just didn't grab me. The opening scene got my attention and led me to believe that it was going to be another Will Robie page turner however, it fell flat after that. I continued to read hoping that it would pick up, which it did, somewhere around the middle of the book. It was, indeed, full of twists and turns but was still predictable with flat characters and boring dialogue. Will I buy the next Baldacci book? Yes, because this author is capable of writing wonderful novels - just look at the Camel Club series and the two previous novels featuring Will Robie.
